Romanian Brands Have a Spectacular 2023 London Design Fair

200 participants from 40 countries attracted about 20,000 visitors, including architects, designers and retailers to the 2023 London Design Fair, an event recognised as London’s window on worldwide design. Organised in a special venue, in a former brewery, the Fair celebrated all creative industries in the field. The newest trends in furniture, lighting, collection design, materials and original installations were presented.

Romania was represented by 11 companies with displays covering 203.5 sqm. These were AESTHETIC INDESIGN with their VLAdiLA brand, ANTARES ROMANIA, ASKIA FURNITURE, CAREL WOODWORKS, ECOMATRIX, LEMN PROD EX with their XO Interiors brand, MOBEX&COMPANY, M-OLIVER DESIGN, MONTANA CAMPENI & BRADUL MĂNECIU, SIMEX, SOLID OAK EXPERT. Romanian manufacturers prepared solid wood furniture collections, from statement pieces to full furniture lines for housing, hotels and restaurants, offices and public institutions, as well as original wallpaper and upholstery collections.

“During the London design fair we had a wonderful launch event thanks to our new official UK and Ireland partners, Max Furniture,” said the representatives of ASKIA Furniture, who exhibited a versatile office desk, designed to adapt to various work spaces “like a chameleon in its environment.” The VLAdiLA brand delighted the London public with its refined design of wallpaper, textiles and furniture of the Una Lettera D’Amore collection, unveiled for the first time at this event. SIMEX exhibited their latest creations at the 2023 London Design Fair, too. “We brought to London the elegance of solid oak in brushed finish, as well as our new Gama bathroom collection, which we exhibit exclusively at this Fair.” ANTARES Romania exhibited the newest products of 2023, while ECOMATRIX exhibited solid wood tables and tabletops made from several material combinations. XO Interiors exhibited their new minimalist furniture collection, MOBEX&COMPANY unveiled to the London design scene their solid oak tables, M – OLIVER Design attempted to win over the public with their 2023 collections, and MONTANA Câmpeni & BRADUL Măneciu exhibited their Organica statement collection, comprising atemporal pieces, that fit any type of interior and add value to the space through elegance and simplicity. “Throughout the exhibition, new and unparalleled opportunities emerged”, said the manager of SOLID OAK EXPERT, a manufacturer that produced two new furniture collections specially for this event. “We are deeply thankful to the organiser of the London Design Fair for the incredible platform that they provided for unveiling our “Neteru” collection, and for stimulating contacts within the worldwide design community,” said representatives of CAREL Woodworks at the end of the event.

The Romanian participation with a national stand at the London Design Fair was sponsored by the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Commerce (ARICE) and was organised together with the Romanian Furniture Manufacturers Association (APMR).

UK is in 7th place in Romania’s furniture exports, reaching over €146 million in 2022, a 22% increase on 2021.
